Chester Zoo

The Challenge

Chester Zoo’s latest integrated campaign celebrates the launch of its first summer festival which has seen the venue transformed by art, performance and installations. Wild Worlds at Chester Zoo celebrates the relationship between nature and science through previously unseen new worlds, extraordinary spaces, specially commissioned creations and new artistic collaborations.

The zoo has spread their marketing campaign across Radio, Press, Social, Print and Digital with the aim of hitting a visitor count of around 800,000 between the end of May through to the end of September.


The Strategy

Working with a brief heavily weighted to the visitor and family market (science families and day trippers) we devised a print campaign that hit their key visitors within an hours drive time of the zoo.

Using a combination of our networks and neighbourhoods print has so far been displayed in over 500 venues across Greater Manchester into Cheshire and North Wales. We have so far distributed over 14,000 brochures and 9000 flyers. To compliment the distribution they also used a combination of collaborative and solus emails in the run up to the may bank holiday.

The Results

The results saw them welcome of 35,000 visitors on their opening weekend alone.
