We are saddened that the majority of the UK’s arts and cultural institutions have had to close their doors this week. The ramifications this will have is far reaching. It will affect the lives of an estimated 1 million people who have built this world class industry for the British public and millions of tourists to enjoy. We urge the Government to support those people now and ring fence money, for when the timing is right, to breathe life into our theatres, our museums, our heritage sites, our music halls, our cafes, bars and restaurants. It’s a time for solidarity and active support.
Many theatres will live stream their shows online in the coming weeks and you can take a virtual tour round some UK museums and galleries from the comfort of your arm-chair.
